The Kelvin Valley & Falkirk LEADER programme launched in autumn 2015. The programme is managed by a Local Action Group (LAG) and we are currently recruiting for new LAG members to enhance our Board. We are looking for people with experience of economic and/or community development in rural parts of East Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire and Falkirk. A map of the LEADER area is available on our home page.
The LAG is a collection of individuals who, together, provide the range of skills and experience required to develop the LEADER programme, assess applications and have a voice for rural development in the Kelvin Valley and Falkirk areas. A wide range of skills and experience is required and we are looking in particular for more representation from active community representatives, small businesses, social enterprises, land managers, farmers and local agencies. This time, we are not looking for representatives of the public sector as we have sufficient representation.
We don’t expect members to bring all of the knowledge and skills required. The LAG works as a partnership, with different members bringing together different knowledge, skills and experience. The role of a LAG member is set out in the attached document ‘Being a KVF LEADER LAG Member’.
In order to apply, there is an application form and skills checklist that must be completed. They are available below or request by email to Amparo Echenique, Development Officer firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are interested in being part of the KVF LAG or if you are able to circulate this opportunity through your network of members and contacts, please contact Amparo. Completed applications should be emailed to Amparo or they can be posted to the address on the application form.
We are looking forward to hearing from you and to progressing rural development issues in the Kelvin Valley and Falkirk areas.
