Kilsyth farm to offer off-grid eco holidays

Based on a 1600 acre farm rearing beef and sheep, in the Kilsyth Hills, Ashley and Duncan MacGregor plan to create high quality bespoke eco-friendly boutique style holiday accommodation. Colzium House has been awarded £45,000

Another great project has been supported by Kelvin Valley and Falkirk LEADER. North Lanarkshire Council has been awarded £45,000 as part of a £90,000 refurbishment project which aims to increase the tourism infrastructure in the area. Shieldhill Butterfly Project Awarded £15,000

Being our first funded project, the Shieldhill Butterfly Project is a community project led by Brownies. It has been awarded £15,404 to create a safe and environmentally friendly garden space in the village of Shieldhill, Falkirk. The garden will be open to the public everyday as well as being available for community activities and functions.

We are Recruiting for Additional Members for our Local Action Group (LAG)

The Kelvin Valley & Falkirk LEADER programme launched in autumn 2015.  The programme is managed by a Local Action Group (LAG) and we are currently recruiting for new LAG members to enhance our Board.  We are looking for people with experience of economic and/or community development in rural parts of East Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire and Falkirk.  A map of the LEADER area is available on our home page.

Farm Diversification Event

The Kelvin Valley & Falkirk LEADER Programme has grant funding of up to £25,000 available for farm diversification projects which are located in our eligible area.  We can fund up to 50% of eligible costs.  Come along to our farm diversification event at the Westerwood Hotel in Cumbernauld on Wednesday 18th May (6:45-9pm) to find out more information on what we will fund and how to apply. Local Information Sessions on Kelvin Valley & Falkirk LEADER Programme 2014-2020

We are holding local information sessions in each local authority area in April/May.  This is a drop-in event where you will be able to find out about our Programme and how to apply.  There will be other local funding organisations in attendance.  There is no booking or registration for the event, just turn up on the day.
